Introduction:
I chose this book because it was one of my favorite books during my childhood. Throughout the whole book, it has this rhyme that sounds just like a lullaby. It will be a part of my lesson plan and the children will sing it like a lullaby, along with some hand movements and percussion. Kindergarten language art standards may be addressed in the text; K-‐2 English language learners will be able to use English phonemes and rudimentary English grammatical forms, such as simple words or phrases (i.e. “I love you”, “always”, “forever”, etc.) They will also develop the use of standard English grammatical forms and sounds, such as him or her. The song I will use in this activity will be “Rock-A-Bye Baby”, a children’s nursery rhyme. The instrument that I will use will be the shaker.
